Shares of Forestar Group fell, after the residential lot development company's third-quarter revenue missed analyst estimates.
The stock was down 6.9% to $26.26 in recent trading, but rose 6.7% since the start of the year.
Revenue was up 4.2% to $407 million. Analysts polled by FactSet projected $437.7 million.
Forestar posted net income of $35.9 million or 70 cents a share, compared with $32.9 million, or 65 cents a share, a year earlier.
Board Chairman Donald Tomnitz said the company remains focused on maximizing returns across projects by aligning the pace and price of lot sales with the timing of its investments and market demand.
He forecast fiscal 2026 delivery guidance to be between 14,000 and 14,500 lots and revenue guidance between $1.6 billion and $1.7 billion.
