European Chip Stocks Rise as AI Sentiment Improves

0844 GMT - Shares of European semiconductor companies edge higher as investors turn more positive toward stocks exposed to artificial intelligence after a few tumultuous weeks. Global chip stocks have been highly volatile lately as some investors worried that valuations and AI spending might be too high. Shares of Dutch semiconductor-equipment maker ASML Holding and smaller rival ASM International are up 3.3% and 2.2%, respectively. German chip maker Infineon Technologies is up 2.3%. STMicroelectronics shares are up 2.6%. The gains in Europe follow higher share prices in Asia, where Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. closed 3.9% higher and South Korean memory chip maker SK Hynix closed up 4.1%.
