AdvertisementMost Popular Narrative: 49% Undervalued On the latest numbers, Oklo is trading at $41.11 a share, while the most followed narrative on the stock points to a fair value of $80.55, setting up a wide gap between market price and that narrative view.  Oklo is another modular / small nuclear reactor maker, calling them Aurora Powerhouses. But it is not trying to sell reactors; it is trying to sell long-term electricity contracts, maintaining ownership of the plants. We are talking recurring, predictable revenue, not just selling equipment. AI data centers are at play here as well, which is seen as a significant tailwind. Oklo has already signed major agreements, for example with Switch for 12 GW through to 2044. It has also recently cleared a major regulatory hurdle, as the NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) approved Oklo’s Principal Design Criteria for Aurora. Reactors still are not fully licensed or approved, but this has a significant impact on uncertainty. Regarding cash, the company is reported to be holding approximately $1.6 billion and around $600 million in marketable equities, which provides a substantial runway. It has already formed partnerships with large players, including NVDA and META, which lends credibility. However, revenue is still essentially zero, and a $33 million net loss was posted. No Oklo commercial power plants are operating yet. The nuclear industry is known for delays and cost overruns. From a regulatory perspective, Oklo is still yet to obtain full approval, and the NRC has previously denied a license application (though Oklo is open to reapplying). The market capitalization is around $11 billion. Announcements and partnerships are encouraging, but they do not equate to concrete cash flow or profit. Checklist:  Read the complete narrative. The fair value behind this Oklo narrative is based on assumptions of substantial revenue scaling, stronger margins and a future earnings profile that resembles an established power producer more than a pre-revenue project. It is important to understand which assumptions bridge today’s zero revenue status to that valuation and how long-term contracts are incorporated into the model. However, Oklo still faces two clear swing factors: the reactors remain unlicensed and revenue is currently zero despite a multi billion market cap.
