Shares of Park Aerospace rose after the company reported a higher profit and growing sales in the fiscal first quarter.
The stock advanced 10% to $36.00 in after-hours trading on Monday. The stock, which closed up 0.7% at $32.66, has surged 53% this year.
The company, which produces materials for global aerospace markets, on Monday reported a profit of $3.5 million, or 17 cents a share, in the quarter-ending May 31. That compares with a profit of $2.1 million, or 10 cents a share, a year earlier.
Sales rose to $18.3 million, up from $15.4 million a year prior.
Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization were $4.6 million, up from $3 million a year prior.
