Synchrony Financial Raises Quarterly Dividend by 13%

Synchrony Financial's board has raised the consumer-financing company's quarterly dividend by 13%, to 34 cents from 30 cents.

The new payout, equal to $1.36 a year, represents an annual yield of about 1.85% based on Monday's closing price of $73.41, up from 1.63%.

The Stamford, Conn., company, which in April said it would raise its payout in the second half of the year, on Tuesday said the increased dividend is payable Aug. 17 to shareholders of record Aug. 5.
