Market Chatter: Taiwan Semiconductor to Raise Chipmaking Prices by Up to 10% Starting in 2027

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) plans to raise prices for both advanced and mature chip manufacturing by up to 10% beginning in 2027, Nikkei Asia reported Tuesday, citing multiple unnamed sources.

The report said TSMC has finalized negotiations with customers, with additional high-performance computing orders expected to face a 10% to 15% premium on top of the base increase.

The price hikes are aimed at offsetting rising costs tied to materials, manufacturing equipment and overseas fab expansion, according to the report.

TSMC, in a written statement to MT Newswires, declined to comment on pricing, but said: "Our pricing strategy is strategic, not opportunistic."
