Shares of Liberty Energy fell after the oilfield services company said global geopolitical developments could affect its customers and markets in its quarterly earnings report.
The stock was down 17% to $20.85 on Thursday, but rose 13% since the start of the year.
Liberty reported second-quarter net income of $43.1 million, or 26 cents a share, compared with $71 million, or 43 cents a share, a year earlier.
Revenue rose 14% to $1.19 billion. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $1.09 billion.
Chief Executive Ron Gusek said the company was encouraged by momentum in the second quarter, but recognized there were uncertainties with geopolitical developments. He added the company remains focused on executing against broader opportunities emerging across the energy ecothankssystem.
Liberty said the most enduring consequence of the Middle East energy disruption has been a renewed focus on energy security and supply diversification. It added that global oil and gas markets also experienced significant volatility in its past quarter.
