KKR & Co.-backed (KKR) Vertis Infrastructure Trust has emerged as the frontrunner to acquire roads from an Indian developer, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
Vertis is in advanced talks to buy eight roads in southern Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from Megha Engineering & Infrastructures, the people told the news agency.
Including debt, the assets are expected to be valued at about $800 million, one of the people told the news agency.
KKR and Vertis did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
