Amcor Loses Bull on Challenging Backdrop for Volumes

Dow Jones07-22 08:01

0001 GMT - Amcor loses a bull in Jefferies which worries about a challenging backdrop for volumes. Amcor's share price has rebounded some 16% since hitting a low in May when concerns around input cost inflation were at their height. "However, a sustained multiple re-rating relies on positive volume inflection, which we see unlikely as volumes face ongoing structural challenges," analyst Ramoun Lazar says. It considers structural drags on volumes of 1% annually to be permanent. That makes it difficult for Amcor to hit consensus hopes in 2027. Jefferies lowers its price target by 9.3% to A$64.17/share and downgrades Amcor to hold, from buy. Amcor ended Tuesday at A$61.68. (david.winning@wsj.com; @dwinningWSJ)
