Amazon (AMZN) is under investigation by the Senate Small Business Committee for allegedly letting China influence the company's online marketplace, Bloomberg reported late Wednesday, citing a document and two people interviewed as part of the probe.

The Republican committee staff have been investigating "Amazon negligence related to Chinese influence and have found compelling evidence," as per an email a committee researcher sent to an Amazon seller who provided information to the investigators, the report said.

The email did not cite any specific evidence of Chinese influence, according to the report.

Amazon did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
