International Tower Hill Mines has appointed David Wiens as chief executive officer and Shane Parrow chief operating officer, effective Aug. 17 and July 27, respectively.

The miner said the appointments bring together extensive capital markets, mine financing, project development and Alaska operating experience to the company.

The move comes as International Tower Hill enters its next phase focused on completing a feasibility study, advancing permitting, securing financing and positioning Alaska's Livengood Gold Project for development, it said Monday.

Wiens brings more than 20 years of mining finance, capital markets and strategic leadership experience across the global mining sector, most recently as chief financial officer of Asante Gold. Prior to Asante, he held executive roles at a number of Americas-focused production and development stage mining companies, including SSR Mining and Bunker Hill Mining.

Incoming COO Parrow has over 30 years of experience in operations, engineering and project development. Most recently he was vice president and general manager of Kinross Alaska.

Current CEO Karl Hanneman will transition from his role and remain onboard as strategic advisor and director to support the leadership transition.
