Atea Pharmaceuticals shared positive results for its drug designed to treat hepatitis C.
The biopharmaceutical company said Tuesday that its Phase 3 trial combining bemnifosbuvir and ruzasvir achieved its primary endpoint by demonstrating statistical non-inferiority compared to another treatment.
Bem/Rzr achieved a 94% sustained virologic response rate versus 95% for the other treatment regimen.
Rates of virologic failure across all populations were low and comparable between the two treatment arms. Statistical non-inferiority was also met in the secondary endpoints.
Atea plans to present detailed results of its Phase 3 global program in hepatitis C at future medical conferences.
Shares recently ticked up 1.2% to $4.88 in premarket trading.
