Orange SA is partnering with infrastructure investor Morrison to form a data center company located in France.

The French telecommunications operator said Monday the joint venture would support and improve its data center footprint in France, with a target of increasing its current capacity by nearly 10-fold to 400 megawatts.

The joint venture would be supported by an investment of 3 billion euros (about $3.41 billion) using Orange's existing assets, an equity contribution from Morrison and debt.

As part of the deal, Orange would also contribute five major data centers across four campuses in France, along with its operational expertise and commercial reach. In addition to equity, Morrison would also bring its experience in infrastructure and data center investment.

The companies said the partnership and 50/50 joint venture structure would allow them to combine their industrial and commercial expertise to accelerate the rollout of new capacity and meet growing market demand.

The companies expect to sign the deal by the end of this year. They expect it to close in the first quarter of 2027.
