Market Chatter: Kogan.com Allegedly Using Higher Prices on 'Clone' Website as Comparison Point for Discounts

MT Newswires Live07-27 06:52

Kogan.com (ASX:KGN) runs a secondary "clone" website called Exclusive Brands where it sells its products at prices that are considerably higher than its flagship website, ABC News reported Monday.

The secondary website has been running for years, and the company appears to be using prices on Exclusive Brands as a point of comparison for discounts it offers on the primary website, according to the report.

"Kogan.com only advertises [a standard retail price] as a reference price where that price has been offered on kogan.com itself for a reasonable time and within a recent period of time," the report quoted the company as saying in a statement.

MT Newswires has reached out to Kogan.com for comment.
