Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) partnered with South Korea to establish an artificial intelligence research facility and expand computing infrastructure, the Korea Times reported Monday, citing the Ministry of Science and ICT.

The company plans to build a collaboration hub to support software development and joint studies among local businesses and universities, the news outlet reported.

Both parties will also develop a heterogeneous computing environment combining the company's processors with domestically produced hardware to optimize a variety of tech workloads, the Korea Times reported, citing the government agency.

AMD and the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
