Huntington Bancshares (HBAN) earnings visibility should improve, but a Q2 net interest income miss and a softer fiscal 2027 outlook are likely to weigh on investor sentiment, BofA Securities said in a Monday research report.
The brokerage said it lowered its fiscal 2026 and 2027 EPS guidance to $1.58 and $1.85, respectively, from $1.60 and $1.90.
The company's inline Q2 adjusted EPS of $0.39 was driven by robust fees, as well as lower provisions and a lower tax rate, according to the note.
The brokerage said it downgraded the stock to neutral from buy and cut its price target to $18.50 per share from $20.
