Immersion shares climbed to a one-year high after the technology licensing company swung to profit in its fiscal fourth quarter, helped by lower operating expenses.

Shares were up 15% at $7.54 on Monday.

The company reported a net income of $3.73 million, or 12 cents a share, compared with a loss of $17.7 million, or 62 cents a share, a year earlier. Adjusted earnings were 30 cents a share.

Revenue fell 5.2% to $270 million from $285 million a year earlier.

Operating expenses declined to $77.6 million from $85.8 million in the prior-year quarter.

The company said it expects to continue emphasizing quarterly and special dividends over aggressive share repurchases. It has about $39.3 million of authorized stock repurchases remaining and has paid or declared about $1.01 a share in dividends since launching the program in January 2023.
