Tata Power (NSE:TATAPOWER, BOM:500400) is exploring maiden exports of solar cells and panels to Europe as European Union seek alternative sources of solar equipment, Reuters reported Monday, citing Chief Executive Officer Praveer Sinha.

During the company's post-earnings conference call, Sinha said Tata Power sees a 2 GW to 3 GW export opportunity in a European market but did not identify the country, according to the report.

Tata Power currently has an integrated manufacturing capacity of 4.9 GW for solar cells and modules and plans to expand its solar ingot and wafer manufacturing capacity to 10 GW, Reuters noted.
