Kinsale Capital Q2 Beat Driven by More Stable Loss Ratios, RBC Capital Markets Says

Kinsale Capital (KNSL) beat Q2 earnings estimates as more stable loss ratios helped to offset weaker-than-expected growth, RBC Capital Markets said in a note Friday.

The brokerage said it expects a steady rate of reserve releases to support stable core margins amid property pricing pressures.

RBC said it was raising its 2026 operating EPS estimate to $21.84 from $21.50 and cutting its 2027 projection to $23.50 from $23.90, citing better core loss ratio assumptions offset by a growth slump.

Steady margins driving high return on equity is a positive, but the company's growth trajectory is likely to be limited by macroeconomic conditions, according to the note.

RBC reiterated its sector perform rating and the $375 price target.
