Apple (AAPL) incoming Chief Executive Officer John Ternus plans to build on the company's progress in film and television after taking over the role later this year, Reuters reported Tuesday.

According to Reuters, Ternus said he intends to continue expanding Apple's entertainment business following his appointment as CEO in September.

Reuters said the remarks were made during the premiere of the latest season of the Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso.

Apple began offering original TV series and film content through the Apple TV streaming app in 2019.

Apple representatives did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
