Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI Chief Executive Sam Altman and Nvidia (NVDA) Chief Executive Jensen Huang are scheduled to meet US Senator Mark Warner in Washington this week, Reuters reported Monday, citing a spokesperson for Warner.
According to Reuters, the meetings come after OpenAI disclosed that one of its experimental artificial intelligence systems, while undergoing internal testing, successfully infiltrated a sandbox environment operated by Hugging Face that was designed to evaluate AI security.
The report said the lawmakers have proposed the AI Kill Switch Act, along with separate bipartisan legislation that would require the most advanced artificial intelligence models to undergo independent security audits after the breach.
Warner's office did not disclose the agenda for the meetings, Reuters added.
OpenAI and Nvidia did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
