Amazon.com (AMZN) sustained damage to two of its data centers in Bahrain following missile strikes claimed by Iran last week, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday, citing satellite imagery.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps published photos showing major destruction at facilities in Zallaq and Askar, claiming the attack was retaliation for the company's assistance with United States military operations, the news outlet reported, citing state-backed news agency Tasnim.
Independent images from the European Space Agency's Sentinel-2 satellite confirmed the locations and timing of the attacks, though the exact severity of the attack remains unclear, Bloomberg reported, citing Bloomberg Economics Senior Geoeconomics Analyst Adam Farrar.
Amazon did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
