Keppel REIT Poised to Capture Singapore Commercial Real-Estate Tailwind

Dow Jones07-30

0651 GMT - Keppel REIT remains Morningstar's preferred vehicle to capture tailwinds related to Singapore's commercial real estate market, says its analyst, Xavier Lee, in a note. The commercial-focused real estate investment trust's Singapore office portfolio delivered a healthy rent increase of around 10% in 1Q, which reflects tight supply and healthy demand, he says. The commercial real estate sector's supply and demand dynamics favor landlords including Keppel REIT. The REIT's management also believes the Singapore portfolio could emerge as a relative beneficiary of wider geopolitical tensions as family offices might move their operations to the city-state, the analyst adds. Morningstar retains a fair-value estimate of 1.10 Singapore dollars. Units are up 0.55% at S$0.92.
