The US-based giant’s role will likely cover everything from subsurface consulting and field development planning to integrated drilling services and project execution.Crucially, Halliburton also delivers the very scalable, modular gas-fired power solutions for hyperscale data centres and Ai infrastructure, making it a natural fit for Beetaloo’s vertically integrated vision.Beetaloo Energy chief executive officer Alex Underwood “Following the Northern Territory Government’s decision to grant us exclusivity over the Weddell site, we are committed to building a world-class consortium capable of delivering this opportunity. We are pleased to announce this MOU with Halliburton. The company brings a proven track record in oilfield services, engineering execution, and collaborative solutions, making it a valuable potential participant in the project.”The Beetaloo Digital strategy aims to create a dedicated, new power source for data centres, rather than drawing from the existing Northern Territory grid, by utilising the vast resources trapped within the territories Beetaloo Basin.Management says by intentionally building excess generation capacity, the project could also provide a reliable, large-scale source of baseload electricity for the region while at the same time supporting the rapid growth of data centres in the Asia-Pacific.The plan is designed to tap into the relentless power demand from hyperscale data centres and AI facilities, which operate around the clock.Beetaloo says that a durable and predictable demand profile supports long-term field development, accelerates upstream investment and could establish a large-scale, cash generator for the company at a much faster uptake.
