Sanofi Understands Its Problem, but Still Lacks Solutions

Dow Jones07-31 18:34

1033 GMT - The first thoughts from Sanofi's new CEO Belen Garijo suggest the company understands the problem it faces to replace blockbuster sales of its Dupixent drug, but still needs to come up with solutions, UBS analysts say in a research note. Understanding the problem is a real milestone, it is better than defending a pipeline of mediocre assets, the analysts say. But this means Sanofi investors will have to wait to see what solutions the company finds and how it implements them, they add. "In our view, expecting answers this early was unrealistic," UBS says. The company hinted at a more strategic update alongside third-quarter results, the analysts say. Shares rise 2.1%.
