Meta Platforms (META) is facing fresh scrutiny in India after Hyderabad police filed a case against its India head over Facebook videos allegedly targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Reuters reported Friday.

According to the report, Hyderabad police are preparing to issue a notice to Meta regarding the case.

The case follows recent tensions between Meta and the Indian government after the IT ministry summoned Meta executives over the temporary restriction of one of Modi's Facebook posts, Reuters added.

Meta Platforms didn't immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
