Sumitomo Mitsui Trust's Fiscal Q1 Profit Climbs 57%

Sumitomo Mitsui Trust (TYO:8309) recorded an attributable net income of 142.2 billion yen in the first fiscal quarter, up 57% from 90.8 billion yen a year prior.

Earnings per share jumped to 204.61 yen from 128.03 yen in the year-ago period, according to a Thursday Tokyo bourse filing.

Ordinary income climbed 21% to 786.4 billion yen in the three months ended June 30 from 652.6 billion yen.

The company expects attributable net income of 380 billion yen, basic EPS of 137.67 yen, and a total dividend of 47.50 yen per share for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027.
