Sony Semiconductor Manufacturing's Kumamoto Technology Center will resume operations in stages starting Aug. 4, Sony Group (TYO:6758) said in a Friday release.
The site stopped operations after a 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit the prefecture on Tuesday.
The company has finished safety assessments of its buildings and facilities and has done recovery work.
The company expects the Kumamoto site to restore pre-earthquake operating level by mid-August.
