Dow Jones07-30

Stock futures were edging higher on Thursday as investors weighed up a batch of Big Tech earnings reports, which could help power a rebound after the previous session's Fed-fueled selloff.

Microsoft jumped 8.6% in premarket trading after the IT company reported strong fiscal fourth-quarter results and said its capital expenditures guidance for the year remained the same, easing fears about AI overspend.

Meta Platforms dropped 8.9% after the Facebook parent missed Wall Street's second-quarter earnings target and failed to get investors to buy in on its artificial-intelligence spending plans.

Lam Research rose 7.8% after the chip equipment maker reported better-than-expected earnings and revenue for the second quarter, as AI carried on driving up demand.

Qualcomm fell 5.3% after the chip maker's fiscal third-quarter earnings fell short of Wall Street estimates.

AB InBev slid 2.4% after the world's largest brewer reported a jump in beer sales volumes. Investors may have been taking the chance to lock in some profit, given the stock is up 33% already in 2026.

Shell climbed 1.7% after the British oil major's second-quarter profit more than doubled from a year ago, as the conflict in the Middle East drives up energy prices.

Online retailer Amazon and iPhone maker Apple are among the companies set to report after Thursday's closing bell.
