Honda Motor Expected to Post Higher First-Quarter Net Profit

Honda Motor is scheduled to report first-quarter results on Wednesday. Here's what you need to know:

 

NET PROFIT FORECAST: Honda Motor's net profit is expected to have risen 5.8% to 208.2 billion yen, equivalent to $1.32 billion, for the three months ended June, according to a poll of analysts by Quick. The automaker posted net profit of Y196.67 billion in the year-earlier period.

 

REVENUE FORECAST: Revenue is estimated to have increased 8.9% to Y5.813 trillion, according to the Quick poll.

 

The stock has risen 2.0% so far this year through Monday, following a 0.1% gain in 2025.

 

WHAT TO WATCH:

--For the fiscal year ending March 2027, Honda has projected a 6.2% rise in revenue to Y23.150 trillion and net profit of Y260.00 billion, compared with a net loss the previous year. Investors will be focusing on any changes to annual guidance that management may make.

--Fourth-quarter operating profit from its motorcycle business climbed 15% to Y185.3 billion, driven by vehicle sales growth in Asia, excluding Japan. Investors will be closely watching the performance of the key money-making segment.

--Honda has said it is aiming to improve hybrid-vehicle offerings to shore up profitability of its car business following a re-evaluation of its electric-vehicle strategy. Investors will be paying attention to any updates on its hybrid plans.
