The tech-heavy index closed 2.1% higher, boosted by stocks exposed to artificial-intelligence infrastructure. Positive sentiment extended to Europe on Tuesday, with shares of Dutch semiconductor-equipment maker ASML Holding and smaller rival ASM International up 2.7% and 2.2%, respectively. German chip maker Infineon Technologies is up 4.1%. STMicroelectronics shares gain 2.7%. The E-mini Nasdaq 100 futures contract trades 0.6% higher, indicating a positive opening for tech stocks in the U.S.
