Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKG:0388) launched its Five-Year China Government Bond Futures contract on Monday, expanding its China-related derivatives offering and providing offshore investors with a new tool to manage interest rate and duration risk.

The contract is the only offshore-listed futures product linked to five-year China government bonds and complements existing market access programs including Bond Connect and Swap Connect, the exchange said in a statement on Monday.

The Securities and Futures Commission levy will be waived for the first six months of trading, while a 50% trading fee discount will apply through July 30, 2027.
