Shanghai Pharmaceuticals' (SHA:601607, HKG:2607) unit, Shanghai Shangyao Xinyi Pharmaceutical Factory, received a drug registration certificate from China's National Medical Products Administration for omeprazole and sodium bicarbonate dry suspension (I), according to a Shanghai bourse filing on Tuesday.
The drug is used for the treatment of active duodenal ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
The pharmaceutical company invested 5.9 million yuan into the research and development of the drug.
The company's Hong Kong shares slipped 1% during the morning trade.
