General Motors' South Korean unit posted a 30.6% year-over-year increase in sales to 42,199 units in July, driven by strong overseas demand for its sport utility vehicles, Yonhap News reported Tuesday.

The Korean unit of the U.S. carmaker exported 41,353 vehicles in July, marking the sixth month this year in which GM Korea's monthly sales exceeded 40,000 vehicles, according to the report.

Global sales were led by the Trax Crossover and the Trailblazer variants, which sold 26,822 and 15,531 units, respectively, the report said.
