Alibaba Unveils Qwen3.8-Max Flagship AI Model; Shares Jump 6%

Alibaba (HKG:9988) launched Qwen3.8-Max, the latest and most powerful model in its Qwen artificial intelligence series, featuring 2.4 trillion parameters and support for a 1 million-token context window, according to a Monday press release.

The multimodal model ranks fifth on Text Arena, second on Vision Arena, and fourth on Frontend Code Arena, Alibaba said.

It is designed for coding, research, enterprise applications, and long-horizon tasks, with native visual intelligence capabilities.

Qwen3.8-Max is available through Alibaba Cloud Model Studio APIs for global developers and can also be accessed via QwenWork, the company's workplace AI platform.

Shares of the tech giant were up over 6% in Monday's recent trade.
