MT Newswires Live08-03

Altimmune (ALT) said Monday it has started enrolling patients in the phase 3 PERFORMA trial evaluating pemvidutide in patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, or MASH.

The global, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study aims to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and clinical outcomes of pemvidutide in MASH patients with moderate-to-advanced fibrosis, the company said.

Altimmune said that the trial follows findings from the phase 2b IMPACT trial and incorporates feedback from the US Food and Drug Administration and European regulatory agencies.

The company said it expects to publish a 52-week data readout from the trial in 2029.

Shares of the company were up 1.4% in Monday's premarket activity.
