IMAX (IMAX) said Monday that it generated $257 million at the global box office in July, up 47% from its previous monthly record, driven by Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey".
The film, produced by Comcast's (CMCSA) Universal Pictures, has grossed $221 million in total IMAX box office as of Monday, the company said.
IMAX said that the film grossed $44.7 million in IMAX in its third weekend, generating $22.1 million across 443 locations in North America and $22.6 million across 450 locations internationally.
The company said that "The Odyssey" is the fastest-ever film to surpass $200 million in global IMAX box office.
