Embraer (EMBJ) is in talks with Indian airline IndiGo regarding a possible large regional jet order, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
IndiGo is considering buying dozens of Embraer E2 planes to replace its fleet of turboprop aircraft and to increase capacity, Bloomberg reported, adding that talks are early and there is no guarantee an order will be made.
The acquisition could be worth billions of dollars and would be the biggest for Embraer in India, sources told Bloomberg.
Embraer and IndiGo didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
