Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Returns to H1 Profit

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (HKG:0045) reported attributable profit of HK$23 million in the six months ended June 30, rebounding from a loss of HK$289 million a year earlier.

Earnings per share of the hotel operator stood at HK$0.01 compared with loss per share of HK$0.17 a year prior, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing Wednesday.

Revenue from operations in H1 increased 8% year on year to HK$3.53 billion from HK$3.28 billion.

Shares of the company rose nearly 1% in recent trade.
