Honda Motor (HMC) shares rose more than 2% in Wednesday trading after the automaker reported higher fiscal Q1 earnings and revenue that beat analysts' expectations and raised its fiscal 2027 operating profit outlook.
The company posted fiscal Q1 earnings of 115.84 Japanese yen ($0.74) per diluted share, up from 46.80 per diluted share in the year-earlier quarter.
Three analysts polled by FactSet expected 66.03 yen.
Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was 6.06 trillion yen, up from 5.34 trillion yen in the same period a year earlier.
Analysts expected 5.83 trillion yen.
Honda Motor also raised its full fiscal year 2027 forecast of operating profits to 650 billion yen from 500 billion yen.
