SoftBank Group has entered into a $10 billion margin loan facility with a syndicate of lenders, using the value of its OpenAI investment as the reference asset for the financing, according to a regulatory filing Thursday.
The loan, arranged by Goldman Sachs (GS), JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Mizuho Securities, Apollo Global Funding (APO) and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking (SMFG), will be used for general corporate purposes and its Vision Fund II-2.
SoftBank Group is guaranteeing the loan, which is secured by a cash collateral account, as per the company's financial filing.
