1316 ET - Travelers aren't jumping on artificial intelligence as a way to book trips, Truist analysts say. Less than 1% of room nights at online-travel agency Booking were reserved through large-language models, the analysts say. Expedia also said this week that traffic from agentic AI is still small. The analysts believe this means that, while travelers may use AI models to discover and search for accommodations, they are not yet sold on the idea of making a purchase through the platforms. Customers "are making arguably rational decisions to book with sources they trust and in many cases have existing loyalty," the analysts say.
