CAR Group Beats Worst Fears on U.S. Strength

Dow Jones11:57

0357 GMT - CAR Group's bull at Jefferies points to the performance of the vehicle advertiser's U.S. business in delivering a stronger-than-expected group-level performance than some investors had feared. North American revenue rose 6% in Australian dollar terms, but analyst Roger Samuel points out in a note to clients that it grew 12% once currency moves are stripped out. He says it is surprising that CAR still expects fiscal 2027 North American revenue growth in the double digits, noting the continuing downturn in the market for recreational vehicles and trucks. Jefferies has a last-published buy rating on the stock and a target price of 32.30 Australian dollars. Shares are up 9.5% at A$29.58.
