Chinalco Boosts Stake in Aluminum Corp. of China

Aluminum Corp. of China (HKG:2600, SHA:601600), also known as Chalco, said its controlling shareholder Chinalco and parties acting in concert have increased their stake in the company by 659 million yuan, according to a Hong Kong filing on Tuesday.

Chinalco and its affiliates acquired 77.4 million shares, comprising 47.6 million A-shares and 29.8 million H-shares, through centralized bidding on the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchanges.

The purchases represent about 0.45% of the company's total issued share capital.

Following the purchases, Chinalco and its parties acting in concert held 5.83 billion shares, or about 34.01% of Chalco's total issued share capital.
