Alibaba (HKG:9988) is testing whether users and businesses will pay for its AI-powered office assistant as the Chinese technology giant moves to monetize the digital tool, the South China Morning Post reported.

The e-commerce giant's Qwen app now offers three subscription tiers for the assistant, with annual plans ranging from 200 yuan to 1,499 yuan for the top-tier version, according to the report.

Users can also purchase additional video-generation credits, priced from 26 yuan to 968 yuan depending on usage limits. The Qwen chatbot remains free to use, it added.

Alibaba did not immediately respond to MTNewswires' request for comment.
