Core Lithium (ASX:CXO) intersected high-grade lithium at the BP33 project, part of its Finniss Lithium Operation in the Northern Territory, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
Assay results from the first exploration diamond drill hole found a wide high-grade zone of mineralized pegmatite, including 34 meters at 2.1% lithium oxide from 579 meters and 3.43 meters at 2.4% lithium oxide from 617 meters, the filing said.
Drilling is in progress, with an additional four holes planned targeting extensions to mineralization down dip and along strike, per the filing.
Shares rose nearly 2% in morning trade Tuesday.
