Sony's (SONY) "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" film release has garnered $655.1 million in US box office receipts, and $1.67 billion globally since opening in theaters on July 31, Deadline reported.
The superhero action film posted $145 million in revenue on the Aug. 9-10 weekend, only one of eight films ever to post more than $100 million in theater sales during a second weekend in movie houses, Deadline said.
