At the same time, US 2026/27 production is also expected to land lower, according to a Fastmarkets poll of analysts. For the 2025/26 crop year, most analysts expect Argentina’s and Brazil’s corn output estimates to rise.\nThe USDA reported private sales of 105,000 tonnes of corn for delivery to unknown destinations during the 2025/2026 marketing year.\nDespite landing lower, export inspections of US corn was above the average market estimates, and fell by 8% to 1.74 million tonnes in the week ended Thursday August 6, compared with 1.89 million tonnes the previous week, according to USDA data published on Monday August 10. Most participants expected it to decline to 1.39 million-1.67 million tonnes.\nIn other news, the 2026 second-crop corn harvest had reached 79% of the cultivated area in Brazil’s Center-South region as of Thursday, compared with 69% a week earlier and 88% a year ago, according tolocal consultancy AgRural.\nBrazilian corn exports totalled 1.18 million tonnes in the first week of August, compared with 6.85 million tonnes exported in the whole month of August 2025, weekly customs data showed on Monday.\nIn Asia, the most liquid September corn futures contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange rose by 2,258 yuan ($334) per tonne.\nIn the Ukrainian corn market, activity remained limited as buyers and sellers continued to monitor heightened developments in the region and showed little appetite to commit to fresh business.\nMarket sources said much of the trade remained on the sidelines, watching geopolitical developments closely and awaiting clearer direction before re-engaging in the market. Interest in CVB-origin corn was also subdued, with market participants reporting few firm indications across the broader Black Sea market as uncertainty continued to weigh on trading decisions.\nIn cash markets, the movement remained quiet, with most participants waiting for the new WASDE.
