Sector Update: Healthcare Stocks Flat to Lower Pre-Bell Friday

Healthcare stocks were flat to lower pre-bell Friday, with the iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) unchanged and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) declining by 0.2%.

Heartflow (HTFL) stock was up nearly 24% after the company posted a narrower Q2 non-GAAP loss, as revenue increased during the period, and raised its 2026 revenue outlook.

Valneva (VALN) shares were up nearly 26% after the company and Pfizer (PFE) said the European Medicines Agency validated their marketing authorization application for their Lyme disease vaccine candidate, starting the regulatory review process. Pfizer stock was 0.1% lower premarket.

Capricor Therapeutics (CAPR) shares were up more than 85% after the company said the US Food and Drug Administration is willing to review an amendment to its biologics license application for deramiocel, potentially shifting the drug's focus to upper-limb skeletal muscle function in Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
