China Mobile (HKG:0941, SHA:600941) optimized its shareholder return arrangements by shifting dividend denomination and declaration to yuan, effective this year.

In a move to align its renminbi-denominated accounting system, the company will allow Hong Kong shareholders to elect payment in either Hong Kong dollars or yuan, it said Thursday with its earnings results.

The company declared an interim dividend of 2.51 yuan per share, up 0.3% year over year, and expects the full-year dividend payout ratio to be "stable-to-rising."
